Apple was granted a patent yesterday for technology that will recognize user's faces on devices.  I guess that not only will we have fingerprint scanning but now your smart phone will be able to detect a person's identity to unlock the phone.  No surprise this was coming!

  1. I think this is kind of scary to think about but if apple can use your face to unlock your phone that photo has to be saved on apples servers. so they now know exactly what you look like and if the server gets hacked it wont be good for apple users

  2. I thought I've already seen these around. My boyfriend's phone can unlock by using his face. It's funny, because it didn't recognize him because he shaved.

  4. Yea, I realize that facial recognition in biometrics is already around but there is more to this than we know right now. As I said they just patented the technology on Tuesday and detailed their ideas and it's more than just recognition.
